Inspired by the Swiss Dual Philosophy, BSDU's BFDM programme seamlessly integrates classroom learning with real industry practice through a learning-by-doing approach.

Students alternate between rigorous academic semesters — covering sustainable and innovative furniture design, mixed materials, CAD/CAM, CNC operations, solid wood and modular manufacturing, surface finishing, upholstery, quality assurance, and design innovation and full-semester industry internships. This practice-first approach builds professional confidence and workshop-level craftsmanship from day one. Graduates emerge as industry-ready furniture designers, production specialists, and entrepreneurs across furniture manufacturing, product design, exhibition design, and interior design industries.

The BFDM Program in Bachelor of Furniture Design and Manufacturing (BFDM) is an industry-integrated course designed to prepare students for success in the dynamic world of Information Technology. Eligibility Criteria:

  • 10+2 (PCM preferred) or,
  • 2 years of ITI after 10th or Equivalent or,
  • Diploma holder entitled for lateral entry admission

Selection Procedure: Entrance Exam followed by a personal interview.
